Be true to
you! This is the strongest and most underrated business
strategy there is.
Embrace who you are and what you love.
There is place for everyone, and everyone in their
place. Are you an oak tree or a dandy lion? An oak tree is tall and majestic
and towers over the whole garden. Everyone marvels at its size and grandeur.
They acknowledge that it took years to get there, but marvel none the less. But
not everything loves the oak tree. Just think of the lawn that is trying to
grow under its canopy of shade. What a battle for the lawn. The lawn does not
like the oak tree. A tree house builder loves the strong high branches, just as
much as a hippie chick loves swinging in her hammock.
What if you think you are just a weed. A plant that no
one wants and pulls out without a thought. But there are those that love dandelions!
The wild at heart that love to see the random. yellow flowers sprouting out of
their unkempt country meadow. Think of the joy that a child feels, when finding
a “blowy”. The child is so excited and blows the dainty little seeds with such
enthusiasm and makes a wish. In turn the
dandy lion is so grateful, for the little boy that allows the seeds to fly like
fairies in the wind. (by the way, I was forty something when I learnt that it
was in fact a dandelion and not a blowy. Sad day for me.) And if you think a
plant cant be part of the revolution, the dandy lion has now been found to have
excellent medicinal properties.
Sometimes you just need to wait for the right time.
Like the poor cannabis plant. Hidden and shunned for so many years. Now it is
in the forefront of industry. It is rated the world’s most versatile crop.
Every section of the plant can get used for the manufacture of various
products. Change in legislation has allowed this to be one of the biggest
predicted industries. Just because you did not launch your business
successfully a few years ago, maybe now, with new strategy, it is the perfect
time. How many new business have sprung up now, catering to new needs due to
the corona virus. Adapt your product offering and relaunch.
The question is.... are you an oak tree or a
dandelion? Is your dream client the tree builder or the hippie chick? Know this and you will be well on way to
create a brilliant business. If you are true to you, and truly authentic in all
that you do, you will achieve success that others only dream of. When you are living and creating a business
that is in line with your highest value, you will not need any external
motivation and coercion to work. You will rise with the sun, and be rearing to
go every single day. Dont be the lawn that struggles to grow in the shade of
the oak tree.
